Entering Plane of Fear

Approximately negative 500, positive 2500, southwestern, desolate corner of Feerrott is a cave guarded by spectres. Upon entering the cave, you take a series of rights and eventually come to an open area with a portal you see above. This is the first staging area for the initial insertion into Plane of Fear.  Do not immediately walk through the portal until your recon team has confirmed you can enter with relative safety or you will find yourself on the receiving end of the first rez of the day.  

If you have gotten to Ferrott late as everyone else is getting ready to zone in to PoF, be sure to warn the awaiting parties inside the cave.  Due to the fact you may train a few spectres with you.  Not a good thing when no one is ready and this tends to upset people and get you off on a bad start!

Hopefully you are well organized and have formed your groups already, but if not, do it NOW.  And have constant communication at all times with your recon team.  If this is not meet, you will be in for corpse retrieval right after zoning into the Plane.

Insertion & Reconnaissance

To break in, use a team of 2 Shadowknights & 4 Necromancers &/or Monks.  Shadowknights enter first as a means of tanks, if they are aggroed on too heavily, they run them to the West Wall Camp and FEIGN DEATH.  The Necromancers & Monks follow in.  They immediately each face a different direction, North, South, West, & East & FEIGN DEATH.  This is the RECON team.  All 6 should be reporting what they see as they are feigning death to the remaining teams about to enter.

After everyone is in, corpses retrieved, rezzes preformed, buffs back on, you are ready to proceed to the North Wall Camp.  Cheer the group and move on to the North Wall Camp.  Insertion, recon, and getting camp set up will take about 3-6 hours, depending on how many experienced planes people you have.

Okay you have assembled your party (what ever the numbers may be, the more people the better but the suggestion is at least 18 people if you want to mark a spot as yours permanently, but you can pull it off with 12 people).

Rules to Remember

Rule #1:  No one leaves the spot.  Always keep your pulls as far up to the group as possible to avoid runners.

Rule #2:  If you get feared or teleported.  Stand there like you were coming in for the first time and make sure you have not picked up anything else.  If you have aggroed mobs, die or gate out and the group will let you know when its safe to try to come back in.  DON'T run throughout the zone, you may be without your corpse till your puller says it's okay for him to drag it back to you, which could be a long time.

Rule #3:  No arguing in /ooc about who isn't or is in your group at the time or what the loot order is. Most important thing at this point right now is killing about 7-9 mobs.  So, if you do die you can come back in safely.  Just keep your mind on the pulling machine and argue in your respective groups till you are safe and the area is cleared.  There is more time to have conversations later.

Rule #4:  DO NOT succor or evac unless you absolutely have to.  Better to take a few deaths than trying to reinsert all over again.  

Rule #5:  Stay close to each other while medding, fighting and waiting for your puller.  No need to aggro stuff.

rule #6:  you will die.  have that level 46 buffer fully intact!

Rule #7:  praying doesn't help.

 

Puller

The puller should be someone that you trust.  One that is willing to die before bringing back too much stuff to the group.  And ALWAYS listen to your puller!  for he/she is the one who will die the most.

AUTO PULL:  Auto pull is when you out run something or that something aggroed didn't follow you back to your party for what ever reason and returns to it's spot.  Once this happens it transfers the aggro flag to everything around it.  So, when you get into range monsters just come at you. Normally, in ones or twos, depending on how deep in you are.

 

North Wall Camp

Ok, the Fire Wall is CLOSE!  The puller should be prepared to die and die often.  While at the North Wall, face South towards the firewall.  The idea is to work clockwise AROUND the Fire Wall.  The puller should start with the NW corner and then work westward while the group stays at the North Wall Camp.  Once the North Wall is cleared, the puller should work his way southward between the Fire Wall and the west wall.  Clear this area up to the Fetid Fiend House, but don't get to close to it YET!

Now the group should move to the the NW corner.

Remember, Death is always around the corner.



Fetid Fiend House 

Everyone should be in the NW corner and the puller continues his clearing.  Pull the contents of the Fetid Fiend House.  There are 4 Fiends in the house.  They mez easily and have low magic resistance.  Clear the area a little bit South of the Fetid Fiend House, but not past the Gate. Directly East of the House is a bridge-like structure with Tentacle Tormentors on it. When the area between the house and the bridge is clear, pull the Tentacle Tormentors. 

WARNING!  Use EXTREME CAUTION when pulling around the bridge.  The mobs consider it a wall and will not pass under it.  Mobs will sometimes path back Eastward and aggro other mobs, including Dracoliche.  Accidentally pulling Dracholiche is a BAD THING! 

When the bridge is clear, the party then moves to the Fetid Fiend House.  Camp should be set up on the North side of the house, along the West wall, you'll be here for a while, so kick off your shoes and relax a little.

East of the Bridge is the Graveyard, which is where Dracoliche hangs out. Don't pull from past this Bridge unless: 

1.  Dracholiche is dead. 
2.  You are experienced with pulling this area with Dracholiche up. 
3.  You like to be Feared and slaughtered by a horde of high level mobs in an area where corpse retrieval is painful.
